Frequency Asked Question
Quick answers about preparation, process, risk, aftercare, and pricing.
Getting Started
Why replace components when you can recondition “like new”?
What must I do before shipping my parts?
Failure to remove Grease, Oil, and contaminants will result in a surcharge levy. Please ensure parts are cleaned of all contaminants prior to work commencing.
What blast media do you use?
Process & Quality
Vapour vs. sand blasting — what’s the difference?
What is Aquablasting / Vapour Blasting?
Which materials are suitable?
Safety & Risk
Is the process safe for my components?
The method is considered more gentle than sandblasting. However, cleaning is done entirely at your own risk. The service provider cannot take responsibility for damage to your parts, including but not limited to bearings, moving parts, rubber, silicon, gaskets, and glass or water getting into places where they should not go.
Preparation before cleaning (important)
You must ensure that oil is drained out of all parts; otherwise, it will contaminate the cleaning systems. Furthermore, glass particles will clog bearings and moving parts, so if you intend on re-using them, it is better to remove your bearings. The service provider cannot provide materials or labour to cover any holes, channels, or bearings.

Important risk & liability notice
- Assumption of Risk: cleaning, despite the process being gentle, is “done entirely at your own risk”.
- Exclusion of Responsibility for Damage: “We cannot take responsibility for damage to your parts”.
- Specific Excluded Components: includes but not limited to “bearings, moving parts, rubber, silicon, gaskets, and glass or water getting into places where you don’t want glass bead and water to go”.
- Customer Responsibility for Preparation: “We will not be able to provide materials or labour to cover any holes, channels, or bearings”.
- Warning Regarding Contamination: “Ensure oil is drained out of all parts; otherwise it will contaminate our systems with oil”.
- Warning Regarding Media Contamination: “Glass particles will clog your bearings and moving parts… if you intend on re-using them, it’s better to remove your bearings”.
- Customer Responsibility After Cleaning: “Thoroughly inspect your parts prior to re-assembly and remove any water/glass media that is left behind before you do anything”.
- Cleaning Limitation: while we try our best, “some hard-to-reach areas may not get adequately cleaned”.
Aftercare, Rust & Pricing
What should I do after my parts are cleaned?
You must thoroughly inspect your parts prior to re-assembly and remove any water/glass media that is left behind. You should also paint the parts or add a protective coat as soon as possible, or use a product like Corrosion Block or ACF-50.

How is pricing determined?
Although the vapour blasting process is gentle and non-destructive in nature, all cleaning is performed entirely at your own risk. The service provider cannot accept responsibility for damage, contamination, or media/water entry into any bearings, moving parts, rubber, silicon, gaskets, or into any internal passages or components.
